When a donation is made, a transaction fee may be taken by the third-party payment provider which currently could be either PayPal, PayPal Giving Fund, Stripe, or Giving Block depending on which options the charity has activated.
When we work with the charity and their payment account directly, that fee would be whatever their typical transaction fee is depending on what they may have negotiated with that payment provider. When donations are made, 100% of the donation is then sent directly to the charity account intended in real-time. From the contributions received by a charity, Tiltify is paid a contribution fee for our technology and services. Charities pay a range depending on their plan with Tiltify. The average Tiltify makes from processing is currently less than 5%.
When donations are made to PayPal Giving Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity, PayPal Giving Fund receives your donation net of its payment processing fees and sends you a donation receipt. PayPal Giving Fund then grants the donated funds, net of Tiltify’s fee, to the recommended charity, subject to its terms.
