After a long day, week, month, or year of fundraising, you have finally reached the point where you want to retire your campaign. This article will cover what that means and how to accomplish it!

What does "Retiring My Campaign" mean?

Retiring your campaign means you are making it no longer possible for individuals to donate to your campaign. We made it possible for you to give an official "end" to your campaign to signify that your fundraising is now complete!

**Please note that once you have retired your campaign, you can no longer change titles, donation goal amounts, or pretty much anything on the campaign itself - but data such as donor messages will still be available for you to download at your leisure.

How to Retire My Campaign

On your campaign dashboard, under "Setup" you will find the "Retire" button at the bottom in the "Publishing Settings". Please note that this button will only appear after your campaign has been published and has raised any amount of money. If it has not raised any money yet, this button will say "Unpublish Campaign" - and if your campaign is already unpublished, it will say:

"Delete Campaign" instead.

Click it.That's it.

Automatic campaign retirement

We know life can get hectic, so we have automated retirement campaigns under the following circumstances:

  • The fundraising event your campaign was supporting has been retired.
  • There have been no donations for 6 months.

Conclusion

Retiring a campaign is not required, but for those that have active communities the retire button is a great way to signify the end of your fundraising for this particular campaign and to be able to move on to the next one!
